CNC milling · Hamilton, Scotland

CNC milling, up to 700 mm cubed.

Five CNC machining centres in one Hamilton facility, three of them horizontal machining centres with pallets. Milled components up to 700 × 700 × 700 mm and 750 kg, in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The largest listed axis travel is 1,050 × 900 × 1,000 mm.

What it is

Prismatic parts, cut from the solid.

In CNC milling a rotating cutter removes material from a fixed component, along axes controlled by computer. It is how blocks, housings, plates, brackets and other prismatic parts are made.

On a horizontal machining centre the spindle lies on its side and the component is clamped to a square pallet: 630 × 630 mm on the Kitamura H630 and the DN Solutions NHP 6300, and 500 × 500 mm on the Kitamura H500i. The other two machining centres have tables.

All CNC machinery is DNC-linked and programmed offline in EdgeCam multi-axis manufacturing software. The quality management system behind the work is certified to ISO 9001:2015 by BSI under certificate number FM 11369.

The work envelope

What fits, drawn to scale.

The published work envelope for milled components is 700 × 700 × 700 mm and 750 kg. A few machines list more travel than that; the part check says "talk to us" for sizes in between.

Will your part fit our machines?

Enter the finished size. We compare it with the listed capacity of each CNC turning and machining centre on our floor. Indicative only: the drawing decides, and we confirm on quotation.

Our CNC workspace takes turned components up to Ø700 mm and milled components up to 700 × 700 × 700 mm, up to 750 kg. Each machine's listed capacity is on the plant & facilities page.
