CNC turning · Hamilton, Scotland

CNC turning, up to Ø700 mm.

Eight CNC turning centres in one Hamilton facility. Turned components up to Ø700 mm and 750 kg, in ferrous and non-ferrous materials, with listed capacities up to 28 in (711 mm) in diameter and 59 in (1,499 mm) in length.

What it is

Round parts, made from the drawing.

In CNC turning the component is held in a chuck and rotated, while computer-controlled cutting tools remove material to the drawing. It is how shafts, bushes, flanges, rings and other round parts are made.

H.O.B. turns to customers' drawings as a subcontractor. All CNC machinery is DNC-linked and programmed offline in EdgeCam multi-axis manufacturing software, and finished parts are checked in the inspection area, which includes a CMM. The quality management system behind it is certified to ISO 9001:2015 by BSI under certificate number FM 11369.
